<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The source of your frustration and seeming inability to lose weight and keep it off is what I call; </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt; color: #0000ff;">THE FAT IN YOUR HEAD’</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">It’s the reason you struggle, it’s the reason you take two steps forward and one back or worse.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">It’s the reason nothing you seem to try makes any significant difference</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">It’s the reason being at your ideal weight and maintaining that without it being an ongoing battle seems like an unreachable goal. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In this post I’m going to illustrate to you what I mean using a simple process I use in my coaching sessions.  There are many ways that we can reveal the fat in your head but let’s cut to chase and do it in a way that highlights the real problem.  If you pay attention and really get the magnitude of what I’m about to share with you it will change the course of your life from this point forward.  This is the first critical milestone in what I call ‘the weight frustration to freedom solution’</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Until you see this and acknowledge it – you are destined to repeat the same frustrating cycles over and over and over and over no matter what diet or weight loss program you try. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em>(Maybe you have already proven this to yourself)</em></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">I’m going to show this to you in such a way that you can actually go away and do it yourself and get a clear picture of what is standing in your way  and what needs to change.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">O.k. let’s say you are my client and you’ve come to me to help you lose weight, after the introductions I am first going to ask you what you want?  What are you here to achieve, what would be the ideal outcome for having worked with me etc – we’ll essentially paint a picture of the ideal end result for you.  Now I could embellish on this factor alone as it in itself is also crucial and is one part that most people fail to do or do inefectively.  But for today’s point and post just imagine that we have done that and it’s up on my white board – on one side we have defined exactly what you want and we have bought it to life so you can see, feel and hear it.    At this point you’d be pretty excited right? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Then we could say o.k.; so here you are now and up there is where you want to be – acknowledging and feeling that there is a gap between where you are and where you want to be is useful as well.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="color: #993300;"><strong>Now here comes the interesting part&#8230;..</strong></span>the next thing I’m going to do is to start asking you a series of strategic questions that begin to bring out, you guessed it, the fat in your head.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">There are many techniques and questions you can use because you can relate them to weight loss, to dieting or healthy eating, to exercise, to the planning and organization involved and the big one – TO YOU.  But we are going to use just one main question and it’s clever because it instantly reveals what you <span style="text-decoration: underline;">associate</span> to losing weight and this is all important because it’s your associations that really dictate your behavior.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The question is; <em>when you think about losing weight – what comes to mind?</em>  So to really do this you need to obviously contemplate losing weight, and then you need to tune in and listen carefully – some things will pop straight to mind others will be more subtle whispers, feelings, thoughts or images. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The above is what we will use for today however I’ll share a quick couple of other tips so you can get a sense of the scope of TFIYH (the fat in your head)</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">So here is another question you can ask; &#8220;<em>what do I think and believe about losing weight?&#8221;</em></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Here is another gem of a way to do this;  Assess your current results and work backwards from that.  Basically if you aren’t doing it then you don’t really believe it – meaning <span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong>you can look at your current results and that will tell you what you really believe and associate to losing weight.</strong></span> Just ask yourself: &#8220;<em>if this is where I’m currently at – then what must I really think and believe&#8221;?</em></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Ok, here are a couple more; <strong>notice what comes after the ‘buts’</strong> i.e. I really want to lose weight but! This will highlight your excuses or all the ways that you excuse yourself from doing what needs to be done.  Excuses are another form of fat in your head.  Another way to reveal similar blocks is to ask – so why haven’t you done it already? What’s stopping you? Provoke yourself a little and see what comes out lol</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">On that note; you can also notice what you are sensitive to with regards to losing weight – analysing what pushes your buttons will indicate <em>inner conflicts</em> and that is the very stuff preventing you from moving forward. Mixed messages and being in two minds or torn in two different directions just renders you paralyzed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Alright – so if you only used the first question I guarantee if you get into it you will easily fill a whole page.  I’ve done this with many individuals and in seminars or with groups and here are the sorts of things that arise – just from the question; now think about losing weight – and what comes to mind?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt; color: #993300;">SNAPSHOT</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">It’s hard work, Boring, a sense of failure, sacrifice, not being able to have what I want, deprivation, dieting, All the times that it hasn’t worked, it works for others but not me, having to discipline my every move, counting calories, feeling not good enough, it takes a long time, I always put it back on again anyway – what’s the point, disbelief that I can do it, can’t stick at it, Constant mind chatter, it’s not fair, exercise – being red faced at the gym, feeling inferior and embarrassed, embarrassed for my kids and so on….</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">These are the sorts of things that come out – now granted I have focused mainly on the negative <em>but inevitably if someone isn’t at the weight they want to be and is struggling to lose weight – their snapshot is Always 90% negative and that is no coincidence. <span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong>In fact that is my whole point.</strong></span></em></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Now there are ways to take things to a deeper level too, when we start to explore self-image – like for most people when they think about losing weight they actually have an image of themselves as overweight pop to mind, and that has a reverse effect that literally reinforces the idea that they are overweight – if they have also failed many times that feeling comes with the image too.  What about your self-esteem?  i.e. are you worth it?  Do you deserve this?  Do you feel confident, resourceful and inspired to take action when you think about losing weight?   What words would follow “I am” with regards to you and weight loss – do you beat yourself up and run yourself down? If so what do you call yourself and in what sort of tone and voice do you use?   These factors are very high up the scale of mind-set impact, they literally govern the way you feel and act;  Are you getting the magnitude of this yet, are you sensing what you are up against and we are only scratching the surface still. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">So we do this sort of exploration and then I write all that comes out (i.e. the fat in your head) on another whiteboard beside what you just told me earlier that you want.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">And then i get you to look at both and take it all in and see what you notice and then I say…</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em>So do you think this way of thinking is going to get you to your goal?</em>  What becomes immediately apparent is that these two things (the whiteboards) are going in opposite directions.  It then becomes blatantly clear that there is no way you can ever lose weight with that mindset, and that in fact; it’s your mindset that is preventing you from getting there.  And viola you become acutely aware of the direct link between your current mind-set and your results.  With that you simultaneously recognize what must change (and also that you may have been focusing in the wrong areas up until now) </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">So the moral of the story is this;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Firstly; this is the stuff that won’t let you move forward, that cancels out your best intentions, that undermines your genuine efforts.  The crux of the message being that with all of these mixed and contrary messages operating beneath the surface – you are working against yourself my friend!  That’s what the fight and ongoing struggle is made of.  Imagine that all of this time you have been driving with the handbrake on….. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">However now that you know, what will happen is it will be not just like taking the handbrake off but putting your foot on the accelerator at the same time because when you know how to change this stuff <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>you will get the very power that has been working against you to now work for you.</strong></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In very simple terms we will change what you associate to losing weight</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">And you may be thinking OMG do I need to change all of this?  Where the bleep do I start – and the answer is no you don’t have to change it all, you just need to know where to go however this is definitely not an overnight shift.   But the good news is I’ve done the hard work for you, I’ve coached over 1000 people using this system and out of that I’ve developed the ‘weight loss frustration to freedom solution’  if you resonated with what I have shared here then you are going to love the rest and I’m going to reveal the other pieces of the puzzle in a <strong>free 4 part video series</strong> coming up very soon – if you are interested here is the link to go and register your interest….</span></p>

		<title>Will you need to put yourself first to lose weight?</title>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong><span style="color: #800000;">The answer to that question is Yes and No</span> -</strong> read on to find out why and because this one realization alone could hold part of the key to your breakthrough weight loss success &#8211; it has for some of my clients.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The reason I&#8217;ve raised this (putting yourself first) issue is because it hovers like an umbrella over many of the smaller more specific issues that arise for some people. For example, &#8220;never having enough time or energy to lose weight&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">To further clarify things let’s have a look at how this plays out&#8230;.. In my work with clients &#8211; and I&#8217;m guessing you might be similar, one of the things that often comes up that undermines their best efforts to lose weight is variations of the idea that losing weight means they would have to put themselves first &#8230; Now that wouldn&#8217;t be a problem in and of itself except most people also relate that to being selfish &#8211; and we tend to have pretty strong feelings around that word which of course won&#8217;t let us go there. &#8220;I can&#8217;t be that selfish, my family/work is more important&#8221; &#8211; they need me&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #000080;"><strong>“The signs”</strong></span></p>
<p>Do you find that the day to day stuff involving both family, home life and/or work and &#8220;other’s needs&#8221; tend to always take precedence and fill up your day.</p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Do all of these sorts of things seem to get in the way of regular exercise and healthy eating?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Do you only get to yourself if everyone else is <span style="color: #000080;">taken</span> care of or you meet your own (or someone else s) expectations in your work.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">With all this it appears too hard to be organized and do what&#8217;s required and if you did that would be &#8220;SELFISH&#8221; and you might even feel guilty if you do make time for yourself.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">If you are starting to relate to this and can maybe see yourself in this picture then you may want to read on because I&#8217;ll let you in on how you can comfortably get past this common block to weight loss success.  And believe me it is a block &#8211; this is part of  what I call <em>‘the fat in your head</em>’ and it&#8217;s actually a very common issue.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #800000;"><strong>So will you need to put yourself first to lose weight?  </strong></span> <span id="more-444"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Firstly here&#8217;s the &#8220;yes&#8221; part &#8211; you will need to make you losing weight and what&#8217;s involved a priority in your life. Otherwise it simply won&#8217;t happen, it&#8217;ll just continue to take a back seat, get buried by life and/or be a short lived effort while your focus is new and determined. So this is part of the answer to your success &#8211;  you&#8217;ll need to do what you need to so that you sense losing weight as important and urgent i.e. something you need to address NOW.  In order to do this though; you will also need to be willing to make yourself a priority and there-in lies the crux of the problem.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #000080;"><strong>The solution is to change or update your view </strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Here is how you can begin to view things more usefully as opposed to feeling selfish about it, so that you can actually allow yourself to invest time in yourself and move forward. What&#8217;s actually  implied behind the scenes in &#8220;putting myself first&#8221; is what&#8217;s known as (either-or) thinking. It&#8217;s a rather childlike way we tend to inadvertently think that sets you up to feel that &#8216;it&#8217;s literally either you or them&#8217; you need to realize that this is not really accurate. Firstly, if it were true, that would mean that all people who focus on their health and fitness are selfish and I’m pretty sure that’s not the case right? So that is the first thing to grasp.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Secondly I happen to know that you can and will increase your capacity to help others when you are the best you that you can be. How much can you truly help and influence your kids with limited energy, mobility, health and low self-esteem? You are kidding yourself if you think you are being optimally productive at work too &#8211; you probably make up for that by putting more time in. Then you have no energy left for yourself at the end of the day.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #800000;"><strong>What are they all going to do if your health starts to suffer?</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Realize that you need to shift your thinking away from &#8220;either-or&#8221; to &#8220;both-and&#8221;; meaning, for example, you&#8217;ll actually help others more when you are feeling great about yourself and you have more energy &#8211; what speaks loudest to others is what you demonstrate. So when you start helping yourself you&#8217;ll have much more of yourself available to help others &#8211; that&#8217;s what I mean by &#8220;both-and&#8221;. You already know this and the crazy thing is; most of the people that you give your time to (at the expense of yourself) would love to see you happier and healthier.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #000080;"><strong>Are you valuing your self enough?</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The bottom line may be that you don&#8217;t actually value yourself enough or feel worthy of the time and effort and that&#8217;s often part of the same mindset that stops you. Think about this though &#8211; if others are important then so are you. And if you are important to them then that makes you even more important doesn&#8217;t it? (Note; there may be self-esteem issues that are relevant here which is almost another level again &#8211; if you sense that might be you then look out for an upcoming posts on this subject and <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>you’ll definitely want to take advantage of the free training and webinar that I have coming up later in October.</strong></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">In the mean time here is another nice little change of perspective I find that works because it turns your thinking against itself &#8211; &#8220;Are you so special that everyone else is important but not you&#8221;? (I&#8217;m messing with you a bit now but it raises a good point doesn&#8217;t it) Do whatever you need to, to get your mind in a place where you have permission to give time to yourself and to nurture yourself because not just you but everyone concerned will be better off for it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Especially if you are a busy mum with many people relying on you &#8211; it&#8217;s an important part of a balanced life. Otherwise if you are continually giving, you are emptying your energy but not refilling it and that is interestingly what I find to be a big part of many clients lack of energy.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="color: #333399;"><strong>Emotional eating</strong></span> also often stems from unmet needs and often that can be aspects of resentment (not so conscious) for never getting to you and not feeling nurtured.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">In effect you are left with a bunch of convenient excuses for not helping yourself that are easy to justify and even feel genuine for as long as you continue to feed the old worn out thoughts like the ones we&#8217;ve just been discussing.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Realize that to look after yourself including putting in the time it takes to lose weight isn&#8217;t selfish,<strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"> it would actually be selfish not to look after yourself.</span>.</strong> is it selfish to look after your own health – why not simply look at it that way?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #800000;"><strong>How to save yourself and those important to you&#8230;</strong></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">What do they tell you to do if  you’re flying and there is an  emergency and those oxygen  masks drop down in front of  you? They tell you to put  your own mask on first and  then tend to your children.  So you see there are  situations where it is right to “put yourself first’ and I  suggest that your weight,  your health, your future is  one of those. The bottom line  is that you are no good to  anyone, no good to all the  people you continually  sacrifice your time, your life,  your self for <span style="text-decoration: underline;">if you are  compromised yourself. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> Remember I said the answer  to whether you need to put  yourself first to lose weight is  YES and NO…</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Well the NO! part of my answer to the original question really means no you actually don&#8217;t have to put yourself first because it&#8217;s not a competition, and it&#8217;s not a case of ‘you or them’. From now on simply don&#8217;t call it &#8220;putting yourself first&#8221; or selfish, instead, find something else that fits for you that makes it feel like something nice you are choosing to do for yourself that will also make you a better person in your relationships and in service to other</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #000080;"><strong>But i don&#8217;t want to become a selfish person </strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Hey; if you have struggled in this area and still are, this might help too. In my own personal experience and that of clients of relevance, one thing that has become apparent is this; if you are reading and relating to this then you likely have pretty strong values that will ensure you are always considerate of others. So don’t be afraid that this adjustment in your perspective will suddenly thrust you into a world of selfishness. All I am inviting you to move towards is for you to be in a mindset that allows you to have a choice. So you can have the presence of mind to do for yourself what you would for others because you are worth it too&#8230;..</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">..they know that and it’s about time you did too.</span></p>

<p>Image and feel are more the language of the body than words – so you can write your goal down and that will have a minimal effect unless you’ve written it in such a way that the words lead you into your ideal body as an imagined and felt experience.  Athletes and performers communicate, Direct and instruct their body on what to do via image and feel – they imagine themselves doing it.  They<br />
know that <em>if the mind can’t see it – then the body can’t do it</em>.  So too with weight loss – how are you telling your body where to go?  In my work with clients we often find that other than a wishy washy intellectual idea of losing weight or maybe a target weight; they have no clear direction for what they want to create and how it will look and feel.  Your mind-body system has no real understandable or usable reference for where you want it to go.  If that is the case how do you expect to get there?<span id="more-414"></span></p>
<h3><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">2.  I</span></strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>t’s the only way to escape the limitations of your current thinking</strong></span></h3>
<p>A big part of what is holding you back and preventing you from getting the changes you want is your current thinking and conditioning.  Your current results or lack of will be an exact reflection of what you think and believe about you and losing weight.  (If you don’t believe me – monitor your self-talk in the context of losing weight for a few days) What you’ll find is that your experience of losing weight and your results <em>match</em> your consistent self-talk and thoughts.   Imagination gets you out of that box, empowers you to tap into more of your latent potential that is currently being stifled and enables you to go beyond the limitations of the past.  Invariably with coaching there is a need to have clients set their new direction, goals and behaviour from this imagined view because otherwise you just bump into the same stuff that’s prevented you from getting the changes you want so far.  You can’t solve a problem by coming from the same thinking that created it!</p>
<h3><span style="color: #000080;"><strong> 3.  </strong><strong>It’s the only way to get belief, confidence and expectancy in advance</strong></span></h3>
<p>Belief and a positive expectancy about a future result are a crucial ingredient in any accomplishment.  The only things we truly believe are the things we have already done.  When you see and sense yourself in your ideal body clearly in your mind, it becomes as if you have already done it.  <em>The brain-body doesn’t know the difference between something that is real and something that is vividly imagined </em>– it runs the same circuitry.  This is why athletes are very big on mental rehearsal because they know that they must have these essential ingredients (confidence, belief and positive expectancy) as part of their mind-set if they are to achieve there outcome – and better still, they want this <em>before</em> they go out there and do it.   This belief and expectancy is a big part of what sustains them through the ups and downs in pursuit of their goals and they keep their vision and belief alive through seeing the end result in their mind’s eye regardless of what occurs.</p>
<h3><strong> <span style="color: #ff0000;">4</span>.  </strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>You are creating ‘new-roads’ to what you want</strong></span></h3>
<p>When you imagine yourself in your ideal body and experiencing life from there you are creating new pathways in your brain that will ultimately lead to that very result that you imagined.  <em>“Brain cells that fire together wire together” </em>meaning …the more you imagine that, the more you are literally creating new linked chains of brain cells so there is a physical counterpart to your imagined experience being formed and reinforced that plays a role in this result becoming your reality. The more you reinforce it the easier it is to go down that pathway and the less resistance there is.</p>

<h3><span style="color: #000080;"> 5</span>.  <span style="color: #000080;"><strong>Your self-image is a self-fulfilling prophesy</strong></span></h3>
<p>Your self-image (in other words how you see yourself) is at both the cause and effect level of your weight loss challenges.  It’s both the product of your experience with losing weight but it also influences and governs how you act.  If you see yourself as overweight and as the sort of person that puts on weight easily then not only will you interpret things through those eyes and behave that way &#8211; your body will also mould itself to fit that image <em>no matter what you do.   </em>Your self-image is one of the key areas you must go to work on in order to get the changes you want and truly be free from the pull to revert back you your old ways.  Hey if you don’t think it’s there and having an effect on you then answer this question: when you wake up in the morning – how do you know to be you?   The 2 most powerful words in the universe are “I am” anything that comes after those two words is likely to be or become true for you. <em>(That doesn’t make it the truth though – does it?) </em></p>
<h3><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>6.  What you think about does come about </strong></span><em>(This is for the more spiritually minded)</em></h3>
<p>The idea of imagining yourself as you want to be transcends effective psychology too…</p>
<p>Advances in neuro science and new findings from the world of quantum physics are now bringing science and spirituality together.  It has long been said by Gurus of all walks that <em>what you think about comes about </em>– now there is sound scientific backing for how and why this occurs.  Everything is created twice ..first in the mind and then in the physical – all that you see around you was first an idea before it was created – SO YOU MUST GO THERE IN MIND TO GO THERE IN BODY.  It’s the natural creative and energetic process from the mental to the physical and from higher frequency to lower frequency.  Quantum physics tells us that we need to get in energetic resonance with our goal in order for it to manifest in our lives. By vividly imagining your goal as real you are getting in resonance with your ideal body thereby making it energetic law that you will soon experience that.  The law of attraction will then ensure that you attract everything you need to get there.</p>
<h3><span style="color: #000080;"><strong>7.  It’s happening any way BUT…</strong></span></h3>
<p>Here is what is likely to be happening if you don’t take charge and direct your mind with your goal in mind.  The power of all of the above is working anyway but it is likely to be <em>working against you</em>.  Let me give you a couple of examples; what is your current self-image like, bring a picture of yourself to mind and what do you see?   Also, when you think about losing weight chances are you will likely picture yourself as overweight.  I’ve found that the more angst, frustration and previous “failure” attached to losing weight that the more negative the associated images are.  If your self-esteem is down then the picture you have of yourself will invariably be distorted on the negative side to match your view of yourself.  Ever use derogatory language about yourself like…I’m useless or you fat #*%&amp;$……  What images do you think these sort of statements conjure up?  Images are there in the background and also fleeting through our minds as part of our thought processes – you can’t escape that.  Now you know the enormous power that they have you need to start putting this to work FOR YOU.</p>
<p><em>The key to you losing weight for real and in a way that is easy rather than hard, plus lasts without it being an ongoing effort IS TO GET THE SAME POWER THAT HAS BEEN WORKING AGAINST YOU TO NOW WORK FOR YOU.</em></p>
<p>The frustration to freedom solution teaches you how to do this &#8211; the fact that you must go there in mind to go there body is one gem in amongst a few so stick around and learn more.</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<h2><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>Conclusion </strong></span></h2>
<p>Spending a few moments a day ideally after you wake up and before you go to sleep – imagining yourself having and being in the body you want – creating a crystal clear image of how you want to look and stepping into it.  It doesn’t matter what happened yesterday or what may happen tomorrow &#8211; just for those few minutes, in a play-full and fun manner, see things as you want them to be from inside the body you personally desire and GET FAMILIAR WTH IT – get comfortable there.  Trying it on in advance &#8211; tasting life from inside your future body (‘as if’ you already have it now) is one of, if not the most powerful things you can do to facilitate easy weight loss.</p>
<p>So are you using it?  If not, why not?  If you are putting in a massive on-going effort with trying to eat the right things and getting regular exercise yet neglecting to see yourself as you want to be and worse still you also have a self-image that is working against you – then you are unconsciously (unknowingly) undermining your own efforts in a big way.  On the other hand if you put this powerful factor into action you will accelerate, enhance and empower all that you are trying to do and achieve.   It will be like taking the foot off the brake and putting it on the weight loss accelerator at the same time.  I have really only scratched the surface here of the true potential and power that this has to help you; so get to it, what are you waiting for?</p>

<p>The point here is: this inner view or representation is both a reflection of how she sees it and a big part of what keeps her in this illusion that those sorts of foods are attractive and healthy foods aren’t. Understand that these internal pictures cue your nervous system how to <i>feel </i>about something. And of course the fact that anne has such a minimal view around healthy food is (unrealistic) but also means that there are little to no healthy options for her. This proved to be the case, with a little further investigation.</p>
<p>Your views set up internal filters that lead you to see and count some things and to not see or count others. If all you see is basic salad and vegetables and these pictures appear drab, dull and un-attractive. <strong>Then it will set up an inner battle to eat these foods and your whole system will rebel against it when you try to.</strong></p>
<p><span id="more-239"></span>But these pictures don’t represent the truth &#8211; it’s simply your current view.  Go find a friend or a colleague who eats healthy and ask them what they see and you’ll find they have an array of healthy foods and food options and choices full of live vibrant colours and seductive mixes and recipes. To add to that – the tastes you may have become accustomed to with processed foods are largely artificial and also toxic to the body.</p>
<p>Now even just by Anne becoming conscious of this picture, she could see intellectually how limiting it was. In fact, she even felt it was a little embarrassing and simply by exposing it, a change was set in motion. This was particularly so, as I also pointed out that this picture is a big part of what’s preventing her from achieving her goals. It then only took a bit of targeted questioning to help Anne realize that she did like some more healthy foods and so we set about reversing the pictures along with the seductive qualities, and cementing in place a new inner view of healthy foods that she could genuinely buy into and that also <i>tied into her vision of a healthier life and how she wanted to look and feel.</i></p>
<p><b></b><b>Behind the scenes</b></p>
<p>This is the sort of stuff that is working behind the scenes and it’s either helping you or hindering you. You might have guessed that it is futile struggling to eat healthier when these factors aren’t on you’re side. This is simply because you <i>feel </i>it – it sets up an inner struggle which is self-sabotaging rather than self-sustaining. You need to align your views, so they set up a downstream feel. Without the struggle, you’ll even be able to enjoy the journey – how would that be? The ease as opposed to the struggle is also a big part of why you will succeed this time.</p>
<p><b> </b></p>
<p><b>2 things you can do to begin these key shifts today. </b></p>
<p><b>One </b></p>
<p>Do a little research and find out exactly what some of your favourite unhealthy foods are doing to your body. Not just in terms of fat and or weight gain but also internally to your organs and the likes. Then change your internal picture of these foods to fit what you now know.  I&#8217;ve found it comes easier when you back it up with supporting facts and understanding plus a knowing that this change is reall going to be for the better.</p>
<p><b>Two</b></p>
<p>Expand and vamp up your view of healthy foods in your own way. Change your internal picture so it will lead you in the direction of improved health, weight loss and a better quality of life. To support this get online and do a google search or get some books from the library that illustrate the many and varied options for healthy meal options – or if that’s too big, simply focus on lunches, snacks or even deserts. Open your mind to what you’ve previously been closed to and re-set your internal view of healthy food accordingly – create a magnificent, colourful and vibrant collage of healthy options in abundance and carry it within – you’ll be amazed at the difference. And … you’ll realize it’s largely an inside job (mindset thing)</p>
<p><strong>The key to it all</strong></p>
<p>In effect you will then have reduced your attraction to the foods that are not so good for you and increased your attraction to the foods that are.  This happens at the level of <strong>what you hold in mind</strong> &#8211; what you <span style="text-decoration: underline;">associate,</span> which is immensely influential.  Here is another massive clue to your success &#8221; <strong>When you genuinely prefer the healthy options</strong>&#8221; weight loss will become immeasurably easier for you &#8211;  think about that &#8230;</p>

<p>I&#8217;m assuming you would rather be getting more results for less effort as opposed to what you are currently doing which is likely to be the opposite.  I.e. you have been putting in a seemingly massive ongoing effort for very little return, for very little real (and lasting) results &#8211; am I right?</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It’s this that lead to me becoming so passionate about helping people shift in this area of weight loss, because I think many people are needlessly stuck and struggling.  Let me invite you to look at this notion of being stuck a bit differently too.  Being seemingly stuck (for example, “nothing seems to work, I can’t seem to make any real progress”, or “I always find myself back where I started or worse”) – is really the result of using ineffective strategies to try and change behaviour.</p>
<p>One of the general areas you are likely going wrong is trying to change behaviour without changing the programmes that run the behaviour.</p>
<p>Here’s another way to think about your so called  “stuckness&#8221;&#8230;&#8230;<b></b></p>
<p><b>If you look at your results and you let that then determine how you think and believe about it, <i>then you are stuck</i>.</b>  Because it’s a self-perpetuating cycle isn’t it?</p>
<p>So, if you believe it’s <i>hard</i> to lose weight for example (and you are likely to harbour that belief because you have tried and it hasn’t seemingly worked yet), then really through that belief (and the perceiving and thinking that come with that belief) <span style="text-decoration: underline;">you are inadvertently setting your whole system up to prove that to be true on a daily basis.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://weightlossfrustrationtofreedom.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/belief-in-action-resized.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-204" src="https://weightlossfrustrationtofreedom.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/belief-in-action-resized.jpg" alt="belief in action resized" width="826" height="461" /></a></p>
<p>So, as the picture above illustrates, you will tend to “see through those eyes” you will be unconsciously filtering information and essentially be alerted to all the things that let you know that it is indeed hard to lose weight.<span id="more-198"></span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Realize that as soon as you say something is hard, immediately when you frame it that way in your mind-you </span><i style="line-height: 1.5em;">view</i><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> it that way &#8211; you have then actually set yourself up to </span><i style="line-height: 1.5em;">experience</i><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> it that way.   </span></p>
<p>So people who come to me and say “yeah, but it <i>is</i> hard! I prove it every day!”  Well, I’m here to tell you right now, that you are really continuing to get that result BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT YOU BELIEVE.  You are setting yourself up for it.  Until you shift at that level and you change your mind-set, no matter what diet you try, what exercise programme you get involved in, you are going to end up in the same place because that is how your system works.</p>
<p>Brain fact: <i>One of the brains biggest responsibilities is to make your external experience match your internal experience or in other words – “what you hold in mind”. </i> This might be something new and it’s quite big to give to you at this stage, but again, when you know where to go, you can get that very power that’s working against you, working <i>for</i> you.  And that’s the good news!</p>
<p>The first step then is to realize that this is going on and that you MUST change what you believe …</p>
<p>Next you’ll want to find effective ways to change those faulty and limiting beliefs – the ones that won’t let you go forward and undermine all your best efforts to lose weight.</p>
<p>The cool thing about that is that your beliefs are not as real or as solid as they feel.  So it’s easier than you think to shift them and in fact there are actually multiple ways to do that…..</p>
<p>We’ll address these all important things if you stay tuned as obviously these are key to moving from frustration to freedom in fact this stuff is at the heart of a new book I’ll be releasing within the next couple of weeks too – so keep your eyes out for that.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>What is the true test of whether your eating plan or exercise programme will work for you? <em><b>It’s how you feel when you think about it.</b></em><b><i> </i></b>Does it feel like a help, a support, something that you want to do and that is inspiring and pulls you towards it when you bring it to mind? Or does it feel like a drag, a hassle, something you have to do that is more like a bore and a chore.</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">It’s not an exercise programme or even a diet that’s the problem </span><em style="line-height: 1.5em;">its how you think and feel about it that makes the difference.</em><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> If it’s all good then that’s great; if not you have 2 choices; you can either adjust your plan or programme so it takes on a different appeal or you can adjust/refresh your attitude, the way you hold it in mind and how you think about it. (more on that shortly)  Actually there is a third choice too – you can do a bit of both.</span></p>
<p>Either way the key is to, design programmes, rituals and organizational supports that make it easier to make the choices you want, and that feel good <em>so that you willingly do it again tomorrow. </em>What can you do to move from a feeling of having to, to wanting to?</p>
<p><em>This is really the secret and notice it’s in your perception of it.</em><span id="more-191"></span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Following are some suggestions of how to think about and relate to your eating plan or exercise programme so that it takes on a more appealing feel. </span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Think of it this way; in any area that you function well in there are likely to be a few things present, such as organization, preparation and with that, </span><em style="line-height: 1.5em;">a plan of some kind too</em><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">.  A plan is required to efficiently get you from your current situation to your desired one, isn’t it?</span></p>
<p>Another key is to get tapped in, tuned in and turned on to what you really want. Then as you keep that in your sights you can view your plan as your friend. Because it’s a necessary organizational support that highlights the right choices for you.  <em>So your plan is your pathway to all that you really want and that’s kind of exciting isn’t it?</em></p>
<p>It is essential too that your plan is seen as complimentary to other important aspects of your life (rather than an interference) View it as enhancing your work, and your family life and ability to serve others because that’s exactly what more mobility, energy, increased self esteem and confidence, i.e. the results of healthier living will do for you.</p>
<p>Oh One last thing – did I mention that an eating plan or exercise programme is really phase one because it is somewhat temporary. <strong>Your ultimate freedom lies beyond a diet</strong>.   So it should be seen as a temporary support to teach you the necessary distinctions you need, to learn the new behaviours and to establish useful habits, and give you the necessary internal gauges to go forward with.  From there you can think about falling into more of <em>“a way of being”…</em></p>
<p>Realizing that most slim, fit and healthy people aren’t on a diet or at least don’t feel like they are means you too can get there.  Your eating plan/diet or exercise programme is a key part of what will help you get there.  Doesn’t knowing this, in itself make a plan far easier to accept and work with. That’s how simple adjusting your mindset can be and the resulting shifts in your behaviour (when you change your mind) will blow you away –<strong>put it to the test.</strong></p>
